- Network: Welcome. For many of
you this will be your first visit to the long promised LPB Instructor's
Network. If you got here then you successfully logged in. Look
around plenty of new stuff.
- Passwords Currently your email is your
user name and instructor number serves as the password. Since this site
does allow you to download copyrighted pages it needs to remain secure.
I am working on installing a script that will allow you to change your
password yourself, and email your password if you forget.
- Public Site The
www.lostpersonbehavior.net
domain begins with a public site. This site describes the LPB class,
current offerings of the class, and contacts for instructors. I will
only list instructors who wish to be contacted to teach classes. Email
addresses will be placed in a javascript to reduce the ability of robots
to harvest the email.
- DVD update. An updated DVD was mailed
to all instructors on March 11, 2010. It contains the most up-to-date
material. It also contains some new material. Updated map PDFs,
images of the new logo and ISRID logo, PDF of full-size topographic maps,
updated PowerPoints. I did notice after burn I created two copies of unit
7 Subject Categories. Use the Unit 7 version versus the Unit 8
version. I would recommend throwing away your old CD. If you lose your DVD
we will replace them at a nominal fee to cover our cost.
- Certification cards were mailed out as well.
You will notice they carry a three-year expiration date. To be renewed you
must do one of three things; 1) teach a LPB class, 2) attend a LPB TTT
again, or 3) earn sufficient CEU (to be determined). Please use the
completed classes form on the web to report classes
taught. The back of the certification card also contains your
instructor number, and password information. If you wish dbS to
issue similar certification cards for your class let us know in advance.
We would of course would need to charge.
- LPB Logo. We now have a trademarked
logo. All of the PowerPoint visuals have been updated to use the new logo
in the master slide. You may use the logo when promoting a class and on
other class handouts. You may also continue to use the dbS logo, it
is your choice. If you wish to learn what all of the elements of the
logo represent then click here LPB Logo
- Patches. Yes, we now have patches.
The patches should only be given to those who have taken the course or for
rare patch swaps. You may sell or give patches to your students.
Patches can be ordered from the
instructor's order form or give us a call. Thank-you to everyone who
gave us input. Be sure to thank Emily.
- Forum. I just put up a Bulletin Board
or discussion site on the web. It requires you to register yourself.
Then I will need to approve everyone. I will only be adding those
who belong to the instructor's network. Discussion should be
restricted to items related to LPB. Now talk among yourselves.
- Instructor's Activity Guide. Perhaps
the most important work project is the Instructor's Activity Guide.
It is included in your DVD in the Instructor's Guide folder. It is still
very much a draft. I'm still working pretty hard on it. Emily has
not looked at it yet, but will eventually typeset it. I also plan on
taking a lot more digital pictures of the IPP and find site in most of the
incidents. I am also still working the permissions on the newspaper
articles. So some of those may need to be removed or a brief
synopsis given. Also the page numbers don't match the actual in the
table of contents. As always I welcome comments.
- Instructor's Guide. You will also find a
draft of the format for a possible Instructor's Guide (unit 6). Let
me know if you like the format. You will also find it in the
Instructor's Guide folder on the DVD.
- Downloads. Click on the downloads
and you can download maps, administrative material, new items of
interests, and PowerPoint's. Not all of the power points are posted
at this time. And your DVD is now up-to-date.
